How does Direct Primary Care work?

Direct primary care (DPC) is a type of health care that allows patients to see their own doctor without having to go through a healthcare provider such as a hospital or clinic.

DPC is usually delivered in an effort to improve the quality of care and reduce costs. Patients typically see their own doctor twice per month, and the visits are typically short and easy. The goal is for patients to be able to take control of their own health and manage their own care.

There are a few different types of DPC, but the most common is direct primary care clinics. These clinics are typically open Monday through Friday, and they offer services such as checkups, vaccinations, and general medical advice. Some clinics also offer specialty services such as mental health counseling or physical therapy.

There are currently over 2,000 DPC clinics across the United States. The aim is for this number to grow rapidly in the next few years, as more people seek out quality care without having to go through a lengthy process or spend a lot of money on unnecessary treatments. In addition to these services, DPC clinics also offer telemedicine services, where doctors and nurses are present in the patient's home, as well as virtual consultations.

Direct primary care is a type of alternative health care that allows patients to see a doctor or nurse practitioner who is not a physician. Direct primary care alternatives include family practices, nurse practitioners, and other nonphysician providers.
