Things to Look For in Calgary’s Trusted Auto Mechanic

Choosing a mechanic can be stressful because you want to make sure that you choose someone who will give you a good job at an honest price. A trustworthy auto mechanic is an asset, but how can you know if you really can trust your mechanic? Here are a few important things to look for when evaluating whether a mechanic is worthy of your trust (and your repeat business.)

1: Certification

A trustworthy auto mechanic should at least have the Auto Service Excellence (ASE) accreditation and may have manufacturer-specific accreditation as well. Look for accreditation certificate to ensure that you are dealing with certified auto mechanics in Calgary.

2: Recommendations

One of the signs of an auto mechanic you can trust is a recommendation from friends and family. Other sources you can check on the local Chamber of Commerce or Better Business Bureau.

3: Written Estimates

Good mechanics are generally willing to offer a written estimate at no charge. If the mechanic you choose is not willing to do or want to charge for estimates, they are much more likely to try and pad your bill when they actually work on your car.

4. Explanation

A good mechanic will explain what the problem is and try to make sure that you understand. Ask questions if you need to; your mechanic should answer them to ensure your understanding before proceeding with the work your car needs.

5: Price

You do not want to pay too much for the work done on your car, but at the same time, you want to make sure that the job is done properly. A trustworthy mechanic may not always have the lowest prices for their services, but they also should not have the highest.
